Job summary

Clear Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join a specialist service team across Northern Ireland. You will service, maintain and repair diesel generators and associated electrical control systems, read drawings, and support upgrades and installations.

The role requires 3+ years of time-served electrical experience, a full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to weekend and out‑of‑hours work, including occasional overnight travel across Ireland.

Qualifications

  • Time-served electrical technician with 3+ years' experience.
  • Strong industrial electrical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience with generator controls (ComAp and/or Deep Sea).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexible approach to weekend and out-of-hours work.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and ancillary equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to component level on control panels.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Interrogate and program ComAp and Deep Sea generator controllers.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Support generator control system upgrades and new installations.
  • Provide initial fault finding remotely and on-site.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and breakdown attendance.
  • Occasional travel throughout Ireland, including overnight stays.
