Job summary

KMC Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading company in the construction and heavy equipment sector, covering the South Wales M4 Corridor. You will diagnose faults and service crushers/shredders at customer sites, delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires hands-on mechanical fault-finding, hydraulic and basic electrical diagnostics, and the ability to read schematics. A full UK driving licence and proximity to the M4 Corridor are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing and repairing crushers and/or shredders.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Confident reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics.
• Basic electrical diagnostic experience.
• Experience carrying out repairs rather than only routine maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Applicants should ideally be based within 30 minutes of the M4 Corridor, between Swansea and Swindon.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain crushers and shredders.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical faults.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
• Carry out planned servicing and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintain company standards.
• Work safely and efficiently while representing the business professionally at customer sites.
