Field Service Engineer - Birmingham & Surrounding Areas

Salary: £34,350 + Bonus Scheme after Probation

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (paid door-to-door)

Are you an engineer looking to make a real difference? We are recruiting a Level 2 Field Service Engineer to join a respected Service Team, supporting clients across Birmingham and nearby regions. The role involves travel across the UK, with expenses covered.

This is a field-based position working with vital patient moving and handling equipment such as hoists, baths, and beds. Your responsibility will be to ensure this essential equipment remains fully operational, prioritizing safety and reliability for users.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and LOLER testing
2. Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns
3. Installation, repair, and commissioning of fixed patient handling equipment
4. Conducting site and pre-installation surveys
5. Completing reports via PDA systems and liaising with clients
6. Adhering to all Health & Safety policies and standards
7. Participating in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours support

About You:

• Mechanical or electrical background with hands-on fault-finding experience
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good physical fitness for manual handling tasks
• Willing to travel and stay overnight when needed (expenses covered)

Salary and Benefits:

• Basic salary of £34,350
• Bonus scheme after 6 months
• 31 days holiday (including bank holidays and company closure days)
• Paid door-to-door travel
• Overtime paid at time and a quarter
• Pre-agreed weekend work available
• Overnight allowance: £50 taxable + £30 meals (tax-free)
• Accommodation arranged and paid for
