Job summary

Envisage Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced service engineer to install, commission and service machinery at customer sites across the West Midlands. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, read schematics, and provide clear service reports using CRM systems.

Regular travel to client sites is required. No sponsorship is available; you must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background.
• Good practical experience with electrical wiring and fault-finding.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical repairs.
• Good mechanical engineering and maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Installing, commissioning and servicing machinery at customer sites.
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and routine servicing.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Identifying faulty components and carrying out repairs or replacements.
• Supporting customers with breakdowns and technical issues, restoring equipment to operation.
• Carrying out machine checks to identify potential problems before failures.
• Providing service reports and updating CRM and other records.
• Training customer operators and maintenance personnel in safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Traveling regularly to customer sites in the West Midlands.

Job description

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and routine servicing.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Identifying faulty components and carrying out repairs or replacements.
• Supporting customers with breakdowns and technical issues, with a focus on restoring equipment to operation efficiently.
• Carrying out machine checks to identify potential problems before they develop into failures.
• Providing clear service reports and keeping customer and service records up to date using CRM and other reporting systems.
• Training customer operators and maintenance personnel in the safe and effective operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Working closely with customers to provide a professional and responsive service.
• Travelling regularly to customer sites throughout the West Midlands, sort of region.

Experience & Qualifications

• A strong electrical engineering background.
• Good practical experience with electrical wiring and fault-finding.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical repairs.
• Good mechanical engineering and maintenance skills.

Experience with CNC machinery, automated production machinery or bar-feeding systems would be advantageous, although this is not essential.

Relevant technical qualifications such as an NVQ in Engineering, ONC, HNC or equivalent are desirable.
