Job summary

CV Technical Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform planned and reactive maintenance on CNC machinery across the UK. You will diagnose faults on-site, troubleshoot issues, and carry out mechanical repairs with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

The role involves installation and commissioning support, servicing hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, and creating detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• Time served engineer with a mechanical engineering qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a CNC environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Electrical or PLC knowledge would be advantageous.
• Confident communicator, organised and capable of working independently.

The Role

• Attend customer sites to diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and complete mechanical repairs.
• Support the installation and commissioning of machinery.
• Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Complete service reports following customer visits.
• Identify opportunities for machine upgrades and improvements.
• Work independently on customer sites while maintaining high standards of safety and service.

The Candidate

• Time served Engineer with a relevant mechanical engineering qualification.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a CNC machine environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Electrical or PLC knowledge would be advantageous.
• Confident communicator organised and comfortable working independently.

Flexible to travel extensively throughout the UK, with up to 4 nights away from home per week and occasional international travel.
