Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Field Service Engineer to be based in Wakefield. You will install, maintain and repair CNC machinery and related equipment, with occasional overseas travel.

The role requires an electromechanical qualification (or apprenticeship), strong problem-solving skills, and a clean UK driving license. Travel may include nights away from home and UK-wide assignments.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing CNC sheet metal machines (laser/punch/press brake) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair of machine tools (panel benders, fiber lasers, punch/shear systems).
• Perform preventative maintenance on contracted machines.
• Coordinate with spares for parts and order fulfillment.
• Generate detailed service reports for customers and logs.
• Field-based role with UK travel and some overseas travel.

Location: Wakefield

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 + Van + Overtime

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

The successful applicant will be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of CNC machinery and related equipment.

Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Installation and repair of Machine Tools. (Panel Benders, Fiber Lasers, Punch shear systems)
• Preventative Maintenance checks of contracted machines.
• Liaise with spares department for ordering and delivery of required spare parts.
• Generate detailed service reports for customer and internal logging.
• Field based with U.K. travel and some overseas travel.

Skills and Qualifications

• Have CNC sheet metal working machine tool service (not just maintenance) preferably CNC Laser, Punch or Press Brake knowledge / experience / qualifications.
• Ideally have a minimum of two years service experience
• Ideally have an electrical / electronics qualification (minimum HNC) or to have completed an apprenticeship in Electromechanical engineering (experience with Pilz systems preferred).
• Be computer literate with knowledge of networking an advantage
• Be experienced in bus systems e.g. Profibus, Canbus (Beckhoff)
• Be experienced in servo drives Siemens, Kollmorgen or Moog
• Be capable of working to close mechanical tolerances
• Be capable of working under pressure
• Be proficient in interpersonal skills
• Be prepared to spend nights away from home
• Hold a full clean UK driving license
