Job summary

Staffbase Recruitment Ltd is supporting a very successful distributor of woodworking machinery in recruiting a Field Service Engineer to cover the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire region in the South Central England M4 corridor. This home-based role involves mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, installation and commissioning of woodworking machines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance, service and repair of woodworking machinery as part of a field-based team.
• Carry out fault finding and repair on pneumatics, hydraulics, motors and servo systems; read schematics/drawings.
• Machine installation and commissioning.

Job description

Our client is a very successful distributor of woodworking machinery and due to continued business expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

£36K Basic + Van + Door to door pay + OT OTE £42K -£49K

The successful candidate will be located in the Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire area and will operate as a 'home based' field engineer responsible for maintenance and repair activities throughout the South Central England M4 corridor.

The Role:

Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for effective delivery of professional mechanical & electrical maintenance, service and repair of woodworking machinery.

Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

• Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement on broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.
• Carryout fault find and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Electrical maintenance work will include fault find and repair on motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential).
• Machine installation & commissioning

Candidate:

The successful candidate will have excellent mechanical and 3 phase electrical maintenance experience and knowledge of CNC or woodworking machinery would be ideal.

You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and you will be of a friendly disposition.

Applicants with previous woodwork machinery or CNC machine maintenance experience would be beneficial.
