Job summary

Atlas Copco invites a Field Service Engineer to protect customers' uptime by installing, servicing and repairing compressors, dryers and generators across the North West region.

You will log service activity digitally, attend on-call rotations and participate in training while upholding safety, quality and customer‑first standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or engineering roles with troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient with standard IT applications and service management systems.
• Valid UK driving licence with a clean record.
• Strong safety mindset and proactive problem solving in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent communication with a customer-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Represent Atlas Copco on-site with professionalism and a customer-first approach.
• Install, service, and troubleshoot compressors, dryers, gas generators, and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and deliver expert repairs with safety and efficiency.
• Log service activity digitally, maintain records, and report on performance.
• Participate in on-call schedule and support urgent service needs when required.
• Attend live training and regular team sessions to keep knowledge current.
• Act as a brand ambassador and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, safety, and innovation across the service team.

Your Skills and experience

Key qualifications and attributes include:

• Hands-on experience in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or engineering field roles, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating competency.
• Comfortable and confident in using standard IT applications and quick to adopt new digital tools and systems for service management.
• Possession of a valid UK driving licence with a good driving record (no more than 3 points).
• Demonstrated adaptability, proactive problem-solving skills, and a strong safety mindset in a fast-moving work environment.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach and enthusiasm for resolving technical challenges.
