The One Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover installations, servicing and maintenance of industrial equipment across customer sites in the UK. Are you a hands‑on Field Service Engineer looking for your next challenge with a well‑established engineering business?

I'm recruiting on behalf of a growing and reputable engineering company looking to add a Field Service Engineer to its service team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and delivering excellent customer service while working on a range of industrial equipment across customer sites.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs at customer sites across the UK. Working closely with customers and the wider service team, you'll ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently while delivering a first‑class service experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs.
  • Install, commission and test equipment at customer sites.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Complete service reports and job documentation accurately and on time.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers during service visits.
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety and compliance while working on‑site.
  • Liaise with the Service Coordinator to manage workloads and customer expectations.
  • Support commissioning, warranty work and continuous improvement initiatives where required.
  • Represent the business professionally, building strong customer relationships at every visit.
About You
  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within an engineering or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills with electrical fault‑finding experience highly desirable.
  • Experience installing, servicing and maintaining industrial machinery or equipment.
  • The ability to diagnose faults quickly and work independently in the field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A flexible approach with a willingness to travel and occasionally stay away when required.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to complete digital service reports.
  • A full UK driving licence.
