Job summary

Dawsongroup is seeking a Field Service Engineer based from Garforth to service, diagnose and repair forklift trucks at customer sites and company locations. You will work independently, keeping vans and tools in top condition while completing detailed service reports and communicating findings clearly to customers.

You should bring mechanical know-how across diesel, LPG, hydraulic and electronic systems, a full UK driving licence, and a commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
• Have mechanical knowledge and experience relevant to material handling equipment.
• Be able to work on diesel, LPG, hydraulic and electronic systems.
• Bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to complete reports and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Be organised and responsible in maintaining your tools, equipment and service van.
• Understand the importance of working within your authority, including obtaining approval before carrying out additional work and only ordering parts directly related to allocated jobs.

Responsibilities

• Work across diesel, LPG, hydraulic and electronic systems to identify faults and carry out repairs.
• Complete company service and maintenance reports, recording the repairs carried out, parts used and time taken.
• Examine forklift trucks and report on their condition, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain good communication with designated customers, representing the company professionally and acting in its best interests.
• Keep your company service van, tools and equipment clean and tidy, and report defective tools or equipment to the Field Service Team Leader North immediately.

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play an important role in keeping forklift trucks safe, reliable and ready for use. Based from Garforth, you’ll service, diagnose and repair equipment at designated customer sites and Dawsongroup Material Handling locations, working independently with minimal supervision.
