Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a global, market-leading engineering business. You will be responsible for working on a wide range of CNC equipment, providing timely and efficient machine repairs, installations, and upgrades for customers. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market-leading Machine Tool manufacturer, with great benefits and progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair CNC Machines.
  • Work to schedules to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Provide customers with a first-class service.
  • Ensure all activities are completed within Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Proactively recommend necessary service and maintenance programs.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CNC machine tools and experience in servicing/repairing them.
  • Mechanical bias but able to handle electrical tasks as required.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and innovative to help improve processes.
  • Clear communication at all levels of the customer organization.
  • Flexible approach to a varied workload.

A company vehicle will be provided, and the company will meet all running costs associated with the business use. The vehicle will be available for private use, but you will pay for all non-business mileage fuel. The provision of a company vehicle constitutes a Benefit in Kind tax liability.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Weekdays – Up to first 2 hours/day +33%, for hours exceeding 2 hours/day +50%
  • Saturday – hours worked +50%
  • Sundays and designated statutory holidays – hours worked +100%
  • 1 hour can be booked for completing timesheets on a Friday.
  • Hotel accommodation up to £120 and evening meals up to £30 per night receipted. Lunch allowance of £9 receipted. Car valeting at £6 per week or £24 per month receipted.
  • Payment of work is door-to-door / door-to-hotel.
  • Fuel card arranged for business miles.

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm, with additional overtime when required and weekends when necessary.
