Bright Side Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be assisting a professional, family-led lift service company in their search for an experienced Service Engineer to service and maintain lifts across the Greater London region. The ideal candidate will have electro/ mechanical servicing experience, the ability to work independently or with other engineers, and training will be provided.

A full UK driving licence is essential, and there is an on-site role with overtime, on-call rotations, and an annual

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer or Electro/Mechanical Engineer, preferably in lift or similar industries.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems.
• Desirable technical qualification such as NVQ 2 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Attend initial breakdowns - fault finding, diagnosing issues and repairs where possible.
• Undertake routine and periodic maintenance at client sites.
• Respond promptly to periodic emergency service calls from clients.
• Diagnose repair requirements and conduct on-site repairs where possible.
• Replace, maintain, and service equipment, machinery and systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on maintenance and usage.
• Document all service and repair activities accurately and maintain detailed records.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery.

Bright Side Recruitment Ltd. is delighted to be assisting one of the most professional, and agile, family-led lift service companies in their search for an experienced Service Engineer. The company services and maintains lifts at sites all over the Greater London region.

About The Role

The ideal candidate should have an electro / mechanical servicing background, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other engineers. Applicants who possess hands on, field based electro/mechanical maintenance experience will be considered, as specific industry training will be provided.

Your primary duties will include

• Attending initial breakdowns - Fault finding, diagnosing, identifying issues and making repairs where possible
• Undertake routine and periodic maintenance at a variety of client sites
• Promptly responding to periodic emergency service calls from clients
• Correctly diagnosing any repair requirements and (where possible), conduct on-site repairs
• Replace, maintain, and service all necessary equipment, machinery, and systems
• Providing technical support and guidance to clients on maintenance and usage of equipment
• Document all service and repair activities accurately and maintaining detailed records
• Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer or an Electro/Mechanical Engineer, preferably gained within the lift (or similar) industry, or a similar field
• A full UK driving licence
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A Technical qualification or certification is desirable (EOR/202N or NVQ 2 minimum)

The working schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
• Overtime and occasional weekend work available – Enhanced rate of pay
• On Call Emergency rotations, 5pm-8am Mon-Fri / Sat and Sun all day (currently 1 in 3)
