Job summary

Steve Ball Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair heavy industrial machinery across the UK. You will travel to customer sites and clock on from home, with expenses covered and an emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role offers realistic earnings of £50-70k with a basic £40k plus overtime, van and 25 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays, and a pension at 8%. Strong fault-finding and mechanical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in mechanical servicing, maintenance or engineering within a heavy industrial environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel and stay away when required.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing mechanical components including gearboxes, bearings and large industrial machinery.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and proactive servicing programmes.
• Providing hands-on technical support to customers across the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel.
• Coordinating service activities with the UK-based engineering team and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

LOCATION :

Commutable from Beverley , Goole , Hull, Driffield , York , Selby ,Grimsby , Scunthorpe , Doncaster

SALARY AND BENEFITS :

Realistic earnings of £50-70k due to generous overtime. Basic £40k ( rising to £41,600 after 6 months.) Door to door pay , Van ( available for personal use and fuel card , 25 days holiday + 8 BH's, pension at 8%

THE ROLE :

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join this established business. It goes without saying that you would be expected to travel within the UK , all expenses are covered and you clock on for the day when you leave home. Typically the Field Service Engineers are not booked on a Friday , giving you chance to catch up on paperwork , stock your van etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing mechanical components including gearboxes, bearings and large industrial machinery
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and proactive servicing programmes
• Providing hands-on technical support to customers across the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel
• Coordinating service activities with the UK-based engineering team and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING :

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience in mechanical servicing, maintenance or engineering within a heavy industrial environment

• A proactive and hands-on approach with strong fault-finding and mechanical engineering skills
