Job summary

Our client, a leading manufacturer of labelling, printing and conveyor equipment, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their UK team. You will install, service and maintain high-value machinery across customer sites with nationwide travel.

You will be a multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills, ideally holding 18th edition or equivalent and NVQ/HNC in electrical engineering. Full product training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience with maintenance of FMCG machinery (conveyors, labeling, printing, weighing).
• Formal mechanical and/or electrical qualification (e.g., 18th edition or NVQ/HNC).

Responsibilities

• Attend machine installations, breakdowns, service and maintenance visits.
• Identify faults and repair printing, labelling machinery.
• Replace damaged components (print heads, coders, rollers, belts, presses).
• Electrical fault find and repair.
• Record details of work and obtain customer sign-off.
• Report major defects and arrange spare parts or collection.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the UK.

Job description

Our client is a very successful manufacturer of labelling, printing and conveyor machinery and due to business expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

Basic up to £45K pa + Bonus + OT + Commission OTE £46K - £50K

The Role

Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for the ‘day to day’ maintenance of a range of ‘high value’ industrial printing, labelling, conveyors and weighing machinery.

• Attend machine installations, breakdowns, service and maintenance visits as requested
• Identify faults and repair a range of printing, labelling machinery
• Replace damaged components e.g. print heads, coders, rollers, belts, presses etc.
• Electrical fault find and repair
• Record details of work undertaken and get customer sign off
• Report major defects and arrange for spare parts or machine collection as appropriate
• Travel to customer sites throughout the UK

Travel this role involves travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays.

Candidate

• You will be a multi‑skilled engineer with good mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
• Ideally you will have previous experience in maintenance and repair of FMCG machinery such as conveyors, printing, labelling, packaging and/or weighing machinery.
• Ideally you will hold a formal mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification e.g. 18th edition or equivalent, HNC or NVQ 3 in electrical engineering.
• Full product training will be given.

Hours of Work

Mon – Fri 39 hours + OT + Door to door pay
