Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER to deliver first-class aftersales support across Scotland. You will diagnose faults, provide on-site technical assistance, and drive warranty repairs while building strong customer relationships.

The role covers travel across customer sites, with enhanced overtime and development opportunities, including EV and Hydrogen training, supported by company equipment and a van.

Qualifications

• NVQ3/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle or PSV Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in heavy vehicle/PSV environment, dealership, or fleet operation
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills; able to use diagnostic equipment

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and manuals
• Provide on-site technical support to customers
• Complete warranty and campaign repairs to the highest standard
• Identify root causes and feedback technical information to the engineering team
• Estimate repairs and support Parts and Service teams
• Promote service solutions and genuine parts
• Work closely with Regional Service Managers and customer workshops
• Travel between customer sites and occasionally attend factory training or support other locations

As a Field Service Engineer youll be the face of the business, providing first:class aftersales support to customers and helping keep some of the UKs most advanced buses operating safely and efficiently. Youll build lasting customer relationships, solve technical challenges and play a key role in delivering the outstanding service we are known for.

BASIC SALARY: up to A GBP 40,000

LOCATION: Covering all of Scotland

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• A Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using industry diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
• A Providing technical support directly to customers on:site
• A Completing warranty and campaign repairs to the highest standard
• A Identifying root causes and feeding valuable technical information back to the engineering team
• A Estimating repairs and supporting the Parts and Service team
• A Promoting service solutions and genuine parts where appropriate
• A Working closely with Regional Service Managers and customer workshops
• A Travelling between customer sites and occasionally attending factory training or supporting other locations when required

Youll Ideally Have

• A NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in Heavy Vehicle or PSV Engineering (or equivalent)
• A Proven experience in a heavy vehicle/PSV environment, dealership, or fleet operation

• A Experience using diagnostic equipmentA A willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home when required
