Job summary

Pyramid Search and Selection LTD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service ATMs, self-service kiosks and vending hardware across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. You will travel to customer sites with a company van, laptop and mobile, receiving full training and ongoing support to work autonomously. The role includes on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and customer-facing duties with occasional overnight stays in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, maintaining and repairing field hardware on customer sites.
• Familiarity with Windows-based software is advantageous.
• Experience in a customer-facing role with SLA-driven targets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/repair hardware on customer sites, mainly ATMs and self-service devices.
• Diagnose issues quickly and perform effective on-site repairs.
• Respond promptly to hardware problems and keep the customer informed.
• Engage with customers professionally during high-pressure situations.
• Work to SLAs and coordinate with logistics for parts.
• Coordinate with subcontractors when required to resolve cases.
• Suggest improvements to service, reliability and performance.

Job description

Our client, who are leaders in their industry, are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their field operations. Any experience with white goods, electro mechanical or working in the field, ideally for 1 year would be suitable as full cross training will be given. This role is suitable for a trainee with basic experience.

The business provides a wide range of solutions to the world’s leading banks, retail and commercial institutions.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical support to our client’s customers by carrying out maintenance on a range of ATM's, Self-service devices based at banks, supermarkets, and independent stores.

The candidate will be looking after the Edinburgh and surrounding area and will ideally live in Edinburgh or FK postcode or within a 10 miles radius of Edinburgh. This role will on a rare occasion require an overnight stay if in furthest Scotland.

You will be working independently, 'in the field’, travelling to required areas daily. and will be provided with a company van, a mobile and a laptop, full training, and the network of support that you need to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain / repair technical hardware problems on customer sites, predominantly ATM’s, but you may also work on Self-Service, Kiosks, Lockers and Vending machines.
• Diagnose system problems in minimal time and repair.
• Respond to all technical hardware problems on site.
• Deal with customers in a professional manner during difficult high-pressure situations.
• Work within the times scale as set out in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Liaise with the logistics team to ensure parts are ordered and the customer is kept abreast of the situation.
• Coordinate with the technical resources necessary to resolve critical customer situations.
• Liaise and coordinate with sub-contractors when needed.
• Make recommendations for improving the companies service, reliability & performance.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Technical hands-on experience working on either self-service machines, vending machines, ATM’s, white goods or other such hardware is essential.
• Experience of working on Windows based software is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a similar customer facing environment, working to achieve customer service level agreements.
• A flexible approach to work and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills with ability to work as part of a wider team across the business.
• Work well independently and in a team situation.
• A full UK Valid Driving License is essential for this role. The role comes with a vehicle, fuel card, laptop, phone, tools and workwear.

Hours of work:

• The hours for this role are 8.30am to 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch and 1 in 4 weekends on a rotational basis.
