Job summary

DEMOB JOB LIMITED is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, calibrate and repair specialist laboratory instrumentation across the Midlands. You will travel to customer sites, perform preventive maintenance and provide on-site and remote technical support.

The role requires an electrically biased background with a recognised qualification (HNC or higher), a full UK driving licence, and a flexible approach to travel including overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Electrical, electronic engineering or scientific background with a recognised qualification to a minimum of an HNC or higher.
• Experience working in a field service or maintenance environment.
• Previous experience within laboratory instrumentation or similar is highly desirable.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• IT literate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Flexible approach with a willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
• Provide technical support both on site and remotely.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle stock levels.

I am recruiting for my client, a leading provider of specialist laboratory instrumentation supporting customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their established team, covering the Midlands. Please note this role involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays.

Candidates living in or close to Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester are of particular interest.
