Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Aftermarket team. The role is based in Aldridge with coverage across Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, and involves a 45-hour work week from 08:00 to 17:30 Mon-Fri, servicing mobile specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops.

You will diagnose faults, perform servicing, prepare for MOT, use diagnostic tools, travel UK, maintain records, and uphold health and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Experience in Field Service or as an HGV mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department Of Transport specifications.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, sometimes at short notice.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide excellent service.
• Support health and safety practices and complete risk assessments as required.

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: between £45,663.70 - £48,578.40pa DOE

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for problem-solving and delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our Aftermarket team!

Ideal Candidate:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
• Previous experience in a similar role (Field Service, HGV Mechanic, Workshop Engineer)
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Flexible with working hours and willing to travel
• General computer literacy and ability to complete technical documentation
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus
