Job summary

A Grantham-based material handling business is recruiting a Service Controller to coordinate service, repair and breakdown activity. You will work with customers, field engineers and internal teams to schedule engineers, manage enquiries and progress jobs from enquiry through to invoicing.

The role suits someone with experience in service coordination or engineering support, who is highly organised, can handle multiple priorities and maintain accurate records using ERP/CRM systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in service coordination, service desk, hire desk, or engineering support.
• Excellent organisation and administration skills.
• Strong communication skills by phone and email.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy service environment.
• Customer-focused and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for customers requiring service, maintenance, repairs and breakdown support.
• Coordinate the daily service desk and ensure enquiries are handled promptly and professionally.
• Plan, schedule and allocate work to field service engineers based on location, availability, and urgency.
• Liaise with customers to arrange engineer attendance and provide updates.
• Raise, monitor and progress service jobs through ERP/ service management systems.
• Prepare repair quotations and obtain customer approvals.
• Coordinate parts requirements to minimise downtime.
• Review engineer reports and ensure accurate documentation and invoicing.
