The Team

The Chinese Category team collaborates with the UKI Commercial teams to enhance Deliveroo’s performance across four nations. We are experts in local markets, from Brighton to Belfast. As a member of this team, you will recruit top restaurants in your city/region and report to the London Chinese Category Client Partner.

The Role

This role offers an opportunity to grow within a competitive market by building relationships with Chinese restaurant partners, improving customer propositions, and driving growth. It is ideal for someone passionate about relationship building.

Note: A valid driving license and a car are preferred, as travel around Manchester and surrounding areas is required. This role involves significant travel and is not a typical office job.

Responsibilities
  1. Map, prospect, pitch, and close new restaurants systematically, becoming a local expert.
  2. Communicate in Chinese via visits, emails, calls, and social media to demonstrate Deliveroo technology.
  3. Manage the restaurant onboarding process efficiently.
  4. Ensure restaurant success within the first eight weeks.
  5. Sample food from various high-quality establishments.
  6. Attend restaurant and food meet-ups.
KPIs
  • Number of restaurants signed each month
  • Performance of new restaurants in the first three months
Required Skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Comfortable targeting and approaching new businesses.
  • Negotiation skills to structure win-win deals.
  • Understanding of food delivery economics for restaurants and Deliveroo.
  • Excellent communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.
  • Ability to demonstrate product and industry knowledge.
  • Ownership mentality and ability to meet demanding targets.
  • Interest in food and restaurants.
  • Tenacity and motivation to achieve results.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
