Job summary

Biamp is seeking a Field Sales Engineer to act as a pre-sales technical advisor for customers and partners across the South of the UK, based in Brighton. You will work with Sales, Business Development and Technical Support to specify Biamp solutions and move complex projects from evaluation to order.

You will welcome and engage customers at Biamp’s Brighton Experience Centre, delivering demonstrations and training to help design, install and use Biamp solutions effectively and profitably.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of professional audio, video and control systems.
• Experience with AV networking and system design; CCNA/CCNP/CCDP/ENS or CompTIA are an advantage.
• Familiarity with Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Google and Cisco meeting-space platforms; Visio, CAD and EASE Focus or Address.
• Customer-facing experience within professional AV and ability to present technical concepts clearly.
• Excellent written and spoken English and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation and system design for major projects from discovery to order.
• Manage technical dialogue with end users, consultants, and integrators, translating complex info for all stakeholders.
• Create proposals, drawings, quotes and RFIs/RFP responses.
• Deliver product demonstrations, training and coaching for customers and partners.
• Host customers at the Brighton Experience Centre and support demonstrations.

About the role

As our Field Sales Engineer, you will be Biamp’s trusted pre-sales technical advisor for customers and partners across the South of the UK. Working closely with Sales, Business Development and Technical Support, you will help customers specify the right Biamp solution and move complex projects confidently from evaluation to order.

You will also play a central role in welcoming and engaging customers and partners at Biamp’s Experience Centre in Brighton.

What you will do

• Lead the technical evaluation and system design for major projects and key customers from initial discovery until the product is ordered.
• Manage the technical dialogue with end users, consultants, AV and control integrators and distributors, adapting complex information for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Create proposals, design drawings, quotations, technical documentation and responses to the technical elements of RFIs and RFPs.
• Deliver product demonstrations, training and coaching that help customers and partners design, install and use Biamp solutions effectively and profitably.
• Host customers and partners at Biamp’s Brighton Experience Centre, support demonstrations and help maintain and develop the facility.

What you bring

• Strong technical knowledge of professional audio, video and control systems, combined with hands‑on experience programming and installing AV and control solutions.
• Experience with AV networking and system design; relevant qualifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, ENS or CompTIA are an advantage.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Google and Cisco meeting‑space platforms, as well as tools such as Visio, CAD and EASE Focus or Address.
• Customer‑facing experience within professional AV and the ability to present technical concepts clearly, build long‑term relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English and experience with international travel. Another European language and a relevant degree or professional qualification are advantages.

Location and travel

This is a hybrid role for someone based in the South of the UK, ideally within approximately 90 minutes’ travel of Biamp’s UK office in Brighton.

The role requires regular weekly attendance at the Brighton office alongside home working and up to 75% national and international travel. You must be able to travel frequently and sometimes at short notice within the UK, with occasional trips elsewhere in Europe and to Biamp’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

You will report to the Field Sales Engineering Manager, Europe & Africa. Biamp covers travel and office costs, including office equipment, and offers competitive compensation and benefits based on experience and skills.
