Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a Saint George, SC data center construction project. This 8‑month, 1099 contractor role focuses on hands-on safety leadership for mechanical construction activities, collaborating with field supervision, craft personnel, and project leadership.

The role emphasizes a strong field presence, oversight of hot work, crane and rigging, fall protection, and JHA/permit reviews in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification, or Higher Safety Designation
• CHST, ASP, CSP or other BCSP credential
• Experience supporting mechanical/piping/HVAC installation on large projects
• Data center construction experience

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical construction operations
• Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside mechanical crews and project supervision
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
• Monitor mechanical installation, piping, equipment setting, and material handling activities
• Support safe execution of hot work, welding, cutting, and grinding operations
• Monitor elevated work, aerial lift, scaffold, and fall protection activities
• Support crane, rigging, and equipment placement operations
• Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, lift plans, and pre-task plans
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, inspections, and compliance records
• Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project
