Job summary

Sheakley seeks a Construction Safety Coordinator for a 5-month, 1099 contract on a data center construction project in St. George, SC.

You will lead daily field safety oversight for electrical crews, subcontractors, and supervision, ensuring OSHA compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans; maintaining safety documentation; coaching crews to uphold safe practices; and coordinating safety with management to protect schedule.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Minimum 2+ years of construction safety experience preferred.
• Experience conducting field audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Visible field presence on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor conduit installation, wiring, material handling, and elevated work.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, permits and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Provide field coaching to reinforce safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision and subscontractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture on the project.
