Job summary

Rigetti Computing in the United Kingdom is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer for the Deployments team. You will lead on-site bring-up and production operation of Rigetti quantum systems, collaborating with R&D and customer staff to translate experiments into reliable deployment workflows.

Two specialization tracks build expertise in Systems & Integration or Gate Calibration & Deployment, with travel 30–50% to customer sites and international assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent with industry/postdoc experience.
• Hands-on experience with superconducting qubit devices.
• Proficiency in Python in a scientific/engineering context.
• Strong debugging skills across the measurement chain.
• Willingness to travel internationally 10–25% (general) and up to 30–50% for deployments.
• MS/BS with 3+ years of relevant experience (or PhD).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical work for on-site deployments: define scope, run experiments/calibrations, validate against specs, document results.
• Debug failures and isolate root causes across hardware, software, and infrastructure; drive cross-functional resolution.
• Act as primary technical contact for customers during on-site engagements; translate results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Monitor deployed systems and proactively respond to regressions, drift, or outages.
• Train team members and customer personnel on procedures and workflows.
• Contribute to internal tooling, documentation, and automation to improve repeatability.
• Work with internal R&D teams to improve device performance at scale.
• Be available for international travel to support deployments (10–25% baseline, up to 30–50% depending on project).
