Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking a Smart Supervisor to support the Smart Metering Programme on site, ensuring safety, quality and KPI delivery across our region. You will work with planners, engineers and customers, including landowners and highway authorities, to keep services running smoothly.

You will lead field QA activities, audit works, support CDM compliance and risk management, and collaborate with Water Quality, GIS and other teams.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license required.
• Water Networks knowledge required.
• Competency in basic computer skills.
• Good understanding of English and Maths.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Proactive attitude to delivering excellent customer service.
• Higher education certificate required.
• Experience supervising infrastructure works on Water Network.
• NRSWA, IOSH Managing Safely and EUSR Water Hygiene certifications.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Assurance Function with field-based activities to understand root cause and quality rectification.
• Audit works completed on site and support the Programme Manager with commercial due diligence.
• Support the QHSE Supervisor with auditing operatives for Health, safety and wellbeing including competency accreditation and risk assessment compliance.
• Ensure risks are managed proactively and in accordance with CDM regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of works information as required.
• Meet Local Highways teams for forward planning and collaboration opportunities.
• Liaise with contractors to assess KPI performance and log for audit.
• Respond to live customer complaints to ensure fast resolution by the Smart delivery team.
• Meet customers and secure access to private land under Water Industry Act.
• Undertake non-complex shutdowns on the network and address Water Quality issues.
• Audit construction for specification compliance and provide technical support.
• Collect and manage audit/performance data and keep systems updated.
• Ensure field-based processes are adhered to and minimize disruption to water supplies.
• Escalate site conditions impacting ecology/biodiversity.
