Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Production Chemist to support upstream operations in the Queenstown area within the Oil & Gas sector. The role focuses on chemical management, analysis, and optimization of production fluids to ensure quality and efficient operations.

The successful candidate will implement chemical treatment programs, monitor performance, and collaborate with field personnel to troubleshoot and improve processes in a remote field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Production Chemist or related role in Oil & Gas.
• Solid understanding of oilfield production chemistry including scale, corrosion, demulsification.
• Experience with laboratory analysis of oil, gas and water samples.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation ability.
• Good communication and teamwork for remote field operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage chemical treatment programs for wells and facilities.
• Monitor effectiveness via sampling and analysis of produced fluids.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to fluids, emulsions, and scaling.
• Recommend chemical solutions and dosages based on conditions.
• Maintain records of chemical usage, performance, and costs.
• Collaborate with engineers and field staff to optimize chemical application.
• Ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals.
