Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to all test methods and quality systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements to current laboratory operation.
  • Maintain organized and auditable systems for compliance.
  • Maintain competence with technical standards and continuously improve practices.
  • Ensure compliance with client equipment management requirements.
  • Maintain adequate stock of consumables for continuous productivity.
  • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe for use.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly sampling, analysis and reporting per procedures.
  • Keep auditable systems of work for traceability and compliance.
  • Promote continuous improvement and high-quality service through lab expertise.
  • Provide end-of-trip handover reports and client reports as required.
  • Train and mentor team members as needed.

Experience of Off-shore Oil Industry related analysis
Oil in water training
Oil in sand training
Chemical Injection training on pumps
Computer literacy (Word and Excel)
Knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods
Knowledge of international analytical standards

Education

HND Degree level in chemistry or related science
Full Offshore industry standard training package

Job description

Overview

We seek experienced Production Chemists for adhoc/call out jobs for production/process operations offshore UK

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate compliance to all test methods, procedures and quality systems essential for best practice
  • Liaise with appropriate Client support if a problem with equipment, methods or samples occurs and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service
  • Identify and implement improvements to current laboratory operation/infrastructure in order to maximise equipment availability and effective operations
  • Ensure technical standards competence standards are maintained and continually improved
  • Ensure compliance with client equipment management requirements
  • Ensure adequate stock of consumables to ensure continuous productivity
  • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe/ suitable for use
  • Completion of daily, weekly and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per platform procedures/sampling schedule
  • Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to permit traceability and ensure compliance
  • Comprehensive understanding, knowledge of laboratory and analytical techniques and equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to client
  • Resolution of adhoc requests in a timely and effective manner to ensure effective operations
  • Provision of end of trip handover reports and additional reports as required to Client personnel
  • Provide training and mentoring of additional team members as required
Skills/Experience
  • Experience of Off-shore Oil Industry related analysis encompassing a broad spectrum of methods and analysis to meet exacting process and client demands
  • Oil in water training
  • Oil in sand training
  • Chemical Injection training on pumps
  • Must be computer literate in use of word and excel
  • Must have and maintain knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods
  • Must have detailed knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures, understanding there-in and ensure laboratory processes adhere to said standards
Qualifications
  • HND Degree level in chemistry or related science based subject, or equivalent
  • Full Offshore industry standard training package
Certificates
  • OPTIO/NOGEPA or OLF Offshore survival
  • OGUK, NOGEPA or Norwegian Offshore Medical
  • Shoulder Measurements
