Job summary

Davies Group seeks a Field Motor Engineer to cover Bristol, Yeovil, Bournemouth, and Southampton. You will assess vehicle damage, value repairs, and negotiate settlements, while liaising with customers, repairers, and internal teams to drive high-quality outcomes.

The role requires field-based expertise, knowledge of salvage categories, and experience with estimating systems. AQP and insurer/engineering background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard.
• Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation.
• Experience using estimating systems Audatex, GT Motive, Glass's.
• Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including cars, HGVs, agricultural machinery, caravans.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, detailed engineering reports.
• Assess, value, and negotiate vehicle repair costs.
• Provide fair and accurate vehicle valuations.
• Negotiate total loss settlements.
• Apply detailed knowledge of salvage categories.
• Manage claims through to resolution.
• Liaise with repairers, customers and internal teams.
• Support colleagues and contribute to team success.
