Job summary

Davies UKI seeks an experienced Field Motor Engineer to join the Claims Management team. Field-based in the North West, you will assess vehicle damage, provide valuations and negotiate repair costs, supporting customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will generate detailed engineering reports, manage salvage categories, and oversee total loss settlements across a range of vehicles.

Qualifications

• Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard
• Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment
• Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation
• Experience using estimating systems (Audatex, GT Motive, Glass’s)
• Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including cars, HGVs, agricultural machinery and caravans
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, detailed, and high-quality engineering reports
• Assess, value, and negotiate vehicle repair costs
• Provide fair and accurate vehicle valuations
• Negotiate total loss settlements
• Apply detailed knowledge of salvage categories
• Manage claims through to resolution
• Liaise with repairers, customers, and internal teams
• Support colleagues and contribute to team success
