Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting Meter Readers to collect data from meters at domestic, commercial and industrial properties. You’ll use a handheld device to update readings and provide excellent customer service.

Roles offer flexible start/finish times, 40–45 hours weekly (Mon–Fri, some Saturdays), with overtime rates and a company car. Full training, uniform, PPE, pension and expense reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• Manual UK Driving Licence – minimum 1 year, up to 6 points, no DR offences.
• Physically fit and able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• Clear DBS check with no unspent convictions and no county court judgments in last 6 years.
• 5 years of employment history and prior customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial and industrial meters (Water, Gas, Electricity).
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment at sites.
• Perform Charge Point Surveys and record readings on handheld device.
• Work independently with a proactive, professional approach.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
