Job summary

MDA Space is hiring a systems engineer to deploy, configure and integrate complex systems at customer sites in a hybrid role based in Farnborough. You will execute testing, validation and acceptance activities across Linux and networked platforms, and provide on-site support to ensure mission-critical performance.

The position requires strong Linux experience, scripting skills in Python or Bash, and the ability to travel with up to 50% North America travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux experience and system deployment skills.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting.
• Understanding of networking (IP, routing, switching).
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and integrate systems on customer site
• Execute system testing, validation, and acceptance activities
• Provide support, monitor system health, and handle incidents
• Troubleshoot issues across Linux, networking, and system layers
• Support upgrades, patches, and configuration management
• Act as technical interface with customer and remote engineering teams
• Maintain clear documentation, logs, and issue tracking
