Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking an Instrument Control Automation Technician to install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets, including level, pressure and flow instrumentation. The role requires experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks, plus the ability to read diagrams and fault-find.

You will liaise with contractors, support apprentices, and ensure safety while delivering reliable water supplies.

Qualifications

• Installations, commissioning, maintenance and repairs of water production assets including level, pressure and flow instrumentation.
• Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Investigate asset failures and implement repairs quickly to avoid interruptions to water supply.
• Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.
• Desirable: 18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
• Read circuit diagrams and fault-find where applicable.
• Calibrate and maintain frontline instrumentation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork.
• Full UK driving licence.
