Job summary

Clear Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Service Engineer for HVAC and air conditioning to cover Hereford/West Midlands in a field-based role. You will visit customer sites, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of HVAC equipment, and participate in on-call support with a 4-hour response time.

The ideal candidate has City & Guilds 2079 or NVQ Level 2, F-Gas qualification, a full UK driving licence, and strong fault-finding skills across VRV/VRF, chillers,

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2079 or NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• F-Gas qualification (C&G 2079-11).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong experience within commercial air conditioning service and maintenance.
• Experience working with VRV, VRF, chillers, split systems and close-control equipment.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Confident working independently and managing your own workload.
• Good communication skills and general IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to provide technical support and engineering assistance.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, modifications and commissioning of HVAC and air conditioning equipment.
• Respond to emergency call-outs as part of a regional on-call rota, with a 4-hour response SLA.
• Complete site risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.
• Identify additional service opportunities and pass potential leads to the wider business.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers.
• Maintain accurate F-Gas records and compliance documentation through digital systems.
