Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Field HSE Lead to manage a four-person HSE Officers team on a major energy project in Redcar. You will report to the Project HSE Manager and ensure health, safety and environmental performance across site activities.

You will implement HSE management systems, lead risk assessments and investigations, and liaise with clients, subcontractors and regulators to maintain compliance with UK legislation including CDM.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an HSE leadership or management role on major projects.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent required.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE management systems on site, including subcontractors, per client, IOGP and ISO standards.
• Act as the primary HSE focal point for site operations and management of HSE matters.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, including CDM Regulations.
• Lead, develop and manage the Field HSE team.
• Provide HSE guidance and support to project and site management.
• Coordinate with Environmental Management on site.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Establish HSE monitoring, inspections and audits.
• Lead risk management: HAZOPs/HAZIDs, risk assessments, hazard management.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
