Job summary

Firetecnics, part of Helix International Group, is seeking a Field Based Fire Extinguisher Engineer to service, install and commission portable extinguishers across London and surrounding areas. You will work to BS 5306 standards, maintain accurate records, and deliver a safety-focused, customer-friendly service while building long-term relationships with property professionals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers.
• Recognised extinguisher competency qualification (e.g. BAFE-recognised / BS 5306-3 service technician, FIA, BFC or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of BS 5306-3 and BS 5306-8 and of extinguisher types, ratings and applications.
• Strong fault-finding ability, attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, overhaul, recharge and discharge testing of portable extinguishers.
• Inspect, test and maintain extinguishers and ancillary equipment to standards.
• Identify defective or non-compliant equipment and advise the customer.
• Work to planned maintenance schedules to maximise first-visit completion.
