Job summary

Oyster Recruitment Ltd in Andover is seeking a hands-on Service & Fault Finding Engineer to diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. You will collaborate with field service, engineering and manufacturing teams to boost reliability and reduce downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, experience with machinery and controls, and a proactive, methodical approach to problem solving. A Full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with machinery, automation, control systems, or industrial equipment.
• Experience with electrical wiring, control panels, sensors, motors, drives, and relays.
• A methodical approach to problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Experience with preventative maintenance or engineering improvements would be advantageous.
• Basic C++ programming experience, or willingness to develop these skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
• A disciplined approach to following processes and control measures.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and control system faults.
• Investigating recurring faults, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.
• Working with engineering and manufacturing teams on equipment improvements and modifications.
• Supporting preventative maintenance schedules and servicing procedures.
• Analysing service issues to identify trends and improve machine reliability.
• Feeding service findings into machine design and development.
• Helping reduce customer downtime and improve machine availability.
• Providing technical support to customers when required.
