Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Warrington seeks an experienced Field Engineer to supervise enabling works on a nuclear site, ensuring conformance with drawings and design, and coordinating with the overall project schedule. The role reports to the Field Engineering Manager and supports safety-focused execution.

This position is part-time telework with mandatory on-site attendance, may require travel between Capenhurst and Warrington, and requires SC security clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Nuclear or energy sector experience preferred but not essential.
• Evidence of CDM training and NEC contract experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong stakeholder communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision to ensure enabling works are safely executed and aligned with design requirements.
• Inspect installed components for technical acceptance and maintain daily progress records.
• Review design documents to ensure completeness and readiness for safe construction.
• Support contractor submittals, RFIs, as-built records and non-conformance reports.
• Offer engineering assistance to Field Supervision and project personnel.
• Facilitate engineering solutions with the contractor and track schedule impact.
• Develop daily sub-contractor progress reports and coordinate with project controls.
• Communicate changes to scope, price and schedule with contract administration.
