Job summary
Ex-Mil Recruitment Limited is seeking a Field Engineer to cover Reading/Thames Valley, travelling to customer sites to install, maintain, configure and troubleshoot IT networking hardware. You will work independently across various customer locations, building practical technical expertise.
The role offers a base salary of £30,000 with on-call allowances of £3,000–£4,000 and competitive overtime. A company vehicle, fuel card, 25 days holiday and a pension scheme are provided to support your
Qualifications
- Experience with IT networking and related hardware.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain networking gear at customer sites.
- Experience with fault diagnosis and resolving issues on-site.
- Comfortable working independently and travelling to various locations.
- Familiarity with Cisco or similar networking equipment and documenting work.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and deploy IT networking, cabling and POS hardware.
- Configure equipment per technical specs and customer needs.
- Test installations to ensure operational readiness before handover.
- Install and configure camera and footfall monitoring equipment where required.
- Diagnose faults during installation, maintenance and break-fix activities.
- Escalate complex problems when appropriate.
- Manage workload, travel and appointments to meet SLAs.
- Maintain accurate job records, asset information and documentation.
- Liaise with customers and Service Desk for updates and service quality.
