Job summary

Solutions Driven in Twickenham seeks an Assistant Driller to support environmental and geotechnical site investigations through hands-on drilling, sampling, monitoring and equipment maintenance. This role emphasizes health and safety compliance and accurate field records.

You will advance from Assistant Driller to Lead Driller with chances to broaden field skills across multiple sites, including travel and overnight stays as required.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and able to undertake demanding outdoor fieldwork.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required.
• Accurate field records and documentation must be maintained.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Previous construction/civil/maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and pack equipment required for daily site work.
• Assist with the operation of a tracked windowless sampling drilling rig, initially as an Assistant Driller, with progression opportunities to Lead Driller.
• Operate and assist with mini excavators, breakers, and other site equipment.
• Collect soil samples for laboratory testing and analysis.
• Conduct groundwater and ground gas monitoring activities.
• Accurately record field data, including borehole logs, site notes, and site investigation photographs.
• Maintain drilling rigs and equipment to ensure readiness.
• Keep storage units organized and inventory up to date.
• Ensure company vehicles are clean and well maintained.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
