Job summary

CJ Associates Geotechnical Ltd in the UK is seeking a reliable Drilling Assistant to support drilling operations on construction, geotechnical, environmental, quarrying or site investigation projects nationwide. You will work with the Driller to ensure safe, efficient operation, assist with site prep, equipment maintenance and sample collection.

Travel to different sites is required. You will work outdoors in all weather, assist with setup and logging, and follow health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Previous experience in construction, drilling, ground investigation, quarrying or outdoor environments.
Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to work safely as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Assist the Driller with daily drilling operations and site activities.
Prepare and set up drilling equipment, tools, rods, casing and materials.
Assist with positioning and securing drilling rigs; handle rods and core barrels safely.
Collect, label and store soil, rock and water samples; maintain logs as required.
Follow health and safety procedures and site rules; maintain a clean, safe workspace.
