Job summary

South Tyneside Council is seeking three Peripatetic Social Workers to deliver flexible, high-quality social work across Children’s Social Care. These permanent posts operate at MarketPlace, Town Hall and Civic Offices with a strong focus on restorative, relational practice.

You will work across Assessment, Supporting and Strengthening Families, Children Cared For, Kinship and other areas, contributing to a wide range of experiences and potential career progression towards Senior Practitioner

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with at least 2 years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, high-quality social work across Children’s Social Care, including Assessment, Supporting and Strengthening Families, Children Cared For, Kinship and other areas as required.
• Maintain effective service delivery during periods of increased demand, staff absence, vacancies, service developments and new practice initiatives.
• Undertake assessments, interventions, care planning and direct work with children, young people and families using restorative, relational and strengths-based practice.
• Establish effective working relationships, manage complex cases and maintain high standards across diverse service settings.
