Job summary

Co-op Wholesale is seeking a Retail Development Manager to look after independent retailer sites across South Wales and nearby areas. You will spend significant time in the field, visiting partners, resolving issues, and sharing our wholesale proposition to drive commercial success.

You'll regularly travel to wholesale partner sites, visit the Scunthorpe head office monthly to connect with the team, and collaborate with support functions to ensure a seamless service for partners.

Qualifications

• Field sales experience in retail or FMCG sectors.
• Experience building partnerships that drive commercial results.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence and support partners.
• Organised, able to manage a busy workload independently.
• Good IT skills, able to interpret and present data clearly.
• UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with retailers and identify opportunities to grow their business.
• Provide practical solutions by understanding issues and root causes.
• Manage your schedule and conduct regular visits across your region.
• Coach retailers to drive improvements and maximise store performance.
• Take ownership of your performance and deliver against KPIs.
• Act as the liaison between head office and retailers, coordinating with IT, logistics and operations.
