Job summary

The Roundhouse is seeking a Mobile Plant Engineer to cover a local Midlands patch, diagnosing, servicing and repairing construction machinery on a field-based basis.

You will work a 39-hour week with no regular overnight stays, receive full product training, and have clear progression paths toward Senior Technician or Technical Specialist as you develop your hydraulics and electrical diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Background in construction plant or heavy machinery.
• Strong hydraulic and electrical diagnostic ability.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Excavator experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Field-based servicing, diagnostics, and repair of construction machinery.
• Predominantly small to medium excavators and related heavy plant.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding.
• Breakdown diagnosis and technical troubleshooting.
• Regional Midlands patch with no regular overnight stays.
• Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00–16:30, Friday 8:00–15:30.
