Job summary

Intrahealth is seeking a deputy leader for its Immunisation Teams to support the Clinical Lead on the childhood schedule and community outbreak work. The role oversees locality leads across a wide area with travel to schools, clinics and community venues, including home visits.

Applicants must have NMC registration and at least two years in immunisation teams, with a strong focus on safeguarding, quality, and staff development to deliver a high-quality service for children and families.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent.
• Mentorship preparation (ENB 998 or equivalent).
• Training in Immunisation National Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and supervise immunisation teams for a safe, effective service.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to staff, delivering a quality service to children, young people and families.
• Oversee locality leads across the area and deputise for the Immunisation Lead Nurse.
• Support the Clinical Lead on the national childhood schedule and community outbreak work.
• Attend contract meetings with commissioners and keep them informed of clinical developments.
• Monitor quality, compliance and performance, reporting risks by exception to the Area Manager.
• Provide clinical and safeguarding supervision, with three-monthly 1:1s and annual appraisal.
• Lead and manage immunisation sessions under PGD guidelines, including data collection.
• Lead training, induction and competency assessment for staff.
• Ensure cold chain, infection control and safe storage and disposal of vaccines and drugs.
• Work with the Safeguarding Children’s Team and report jointly on risks.
• Support quality assurance, audit and policy development in line with NICE guidance.
