Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a Community Builder to strengthen local networks and reduce isolation through the Together Derbyshire programme. You’ll spend time out in communities, building relationships with residents, volunteers and partner organisations to create sustainable, community-led change.

You’ll identify assets, develop new groups and activities, promote volunteering, and map impact while working with Derbyshire partners to expand local opportunities and support networks across

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
• Confidence facilitating groups, meetings or community activities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection principles.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with residents, community organisations and local partners.
• Identify existing community assets, groups and opportunities.
• Support the creation and development of new groups and activities.
• Encourage and promote volunteering opportunities.
• Facilitate connections between people, services and community resources.
• Support community leaders and volunteers with information, guidance and encouragement.
• Work with partners across Derbyshire to strengthen local community offers.
• Help groups access resources and funding opportunities where appropriate.
• Gather information and record outcomes to demonstrate impact.
