Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking an Operator (Asset Inspector) in Taunton to inspect distribution assets up to 132kV and other assets with statutory inspection regimes. You will interrogate company systems to identify tasks and may need to travel to sites, recording results and reporting risks promptly.

You must have GCSE English & Maths and a full driving licence, and be willing to work away from the depot when required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English & Maths (1-9 or equivalent) evidence required
• Full driving licence required
• Live within approx. 30 minutes of the depot

Responsibilities

• Inspect National Grid's distribution assets up to 132kV and other assets with inspection regimes
• Identify inspection tasks using company systems
• Drive to sites to undertake inspections and record results
• Report any immediate risks or dangerous issues to the manager
• Enter information into handheld devices or company computer systems on return to the office
