Job summary

Hexagon’s Portable Metrology team is seeking an Application Engineer (f/m/d) to provide expert application support for portable metrology solutions, including Laser Trackers and Absolute Arms. This is a field-based role covering pre-sales demonstrations, on-site training and ongoing support across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be based in Northern UK to cover Midlands and Northern regions, with frequent travel and overnight stays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in metrology, dimensional inspection or related technical field.
• Ability to read technical drawings and apply mathematical principles in metrology.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills, professional Hexagon representation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality technical and application support for Hexagon’s portable metrology solutions.
• Visit customer sites for hands-on support, troubleshoot and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with sales during pre-sales activities, including visits and demonstrations.
• Develop and program measurement routines to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
• Create training materials and deliver product and application training to customers.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the team and follow safety requirements.
