Job summary

GoFibre in Aberdeen is seeking a Network Build Engineer for a fixed-term 18-month contract. This hands-on role involves installing and commissioning network equipment at data centres, cabinets, POP sites, and exchanges, with regular travel across operational areas.

You will connect power, fibre and copper cabling, test gear and ensure sites are ready for service. You will document work, update diagrams and respond to faults, working closely with engineering, NOC, and delivery partners to keep

Qualifications

• Experience of structured cabling, or a keen interest to develop this knowledge.
• Understanding of fibre optics, GPON or XGSPON.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission network equipment across data centres, cabinets, POP sites and exchanges.
• Connect power supplies, UPS systems, fibre and copper cabling.
• Test equipment and complete checks to ensure sites are ready for service.
• Keep cabling neat, labelled and documented.
• Update diagrams, port maps, power audits and commissioning records.
• Respond to on-site faults, replace hardware and perform post-repair checks.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, NOC, Build Partners and Project Management to keep projects moving.
