Job summary

Gigaclear plc is seeking a Field Engineer to support our growing FTTH/FTTP fibre network in Northampton, UK. The role includes training pathways with external sector accredited courses on underground and overhead PIA, NRSWA, and internal network training.

You will carry out Break Fix tasks across traditional civils and fibre, perform splicing and testing, and ensure all work meets Gigaclear standards while maintaining Health & Safety protocols and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Background in Civils, Fibre and/or Telecoms
• Experience of installations, fault fix, repair or maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose network issues
• Knowledge of Civils specs (NRSWA) desirable
• Understand risk & method assessments

Responsibilities

• Delivery of Break Fix schedules with stakeholders to deliver on time, safely and to standard
• Break Fix could include – traditional underground / buried network as well as PIA overhead and underground issues and fix
• Service repair on PIA PON network communities
• Initial first response to Gigaclear's overhead poles to assess and feedback for contractor instruction
• Fibre splicing and testing
• Responsibility for their own and teams’ assurance across quality and Health & Safety standards
