Job summary

Belleview Dakota is seeking a Kitchen Porter for a festive, fixed-term role in Leeds. The position runs from late October 2026 to early January 2027 and is offered on a zero-hours contract. Availability across key festive dates will be considered when assigning shifts.

The successful candidate will perform pot washing, maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and break room, and support chefs with equipment. Training on health and safety will be provided upon starting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ working experience in a cleaning or cooking role.
• Hard-working and able to work at pace.
• Reliable and able to work well alone.
• Health and safety or chemical handling training is beneficial but not required; training provided on starting.
• Enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery throughout the day.
• Store and organise clean items to ensure chefs have equipment.
• Daily clean of Break Room and deep clean of Kitchen twice daily.
• Keep Back of House areas clear and bin store areas clean and clear daily.
• Follow waste disposal and recycling procedures; maintain waste storage area.
• Follow health and safety procedures, especially with waste and manual handling.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and best practices for food prep areas.

Job description

We are seeking a hard-working individual suitable for a cleaning-based role for the position of Kitchen Porter.

This is a fixed-term festive role running from 26th October 2026 to 10th January 2027. The role is offered on a zero-hours contract.

Applicants should have good availability across key festive dates throughout the contract period, as this will be taken into account when offering shifts.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware, and cutlery throughout the day
• Store and organize all clean items, ensuring the Chefs have all required equipment
• Carry out a clean down of the Employee Break Room daily and a deep clean of the Kitchen twice daily
• Ensure the Back of House areas are clear from obstruction and maintain the bin store areas, ensuring they are clean and cleared daily.
• Follow the correct waste disposal and recycling procedures, maintaining the waste storage area within the hotel.
• Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times particularly pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines and best practice relating to the immaculate upkeep of food preparation areas.

• Previous training in health and safety or chemical handling is beneficial but not required as this training will be provided upon starting.
